Trollfjord, Sea Eagles and the Polar Night
The package includes two guided Arctic experiences. On a Trollfjord safari, you travel into the spectacular Trollfjorden, surrounded by steep mountains and narrow waterways. Sea eagles are often seen in the area, so keep your eyes on the sky as you explore the fjord.
In the evening, join a guided walk beneath Lofoten’s winter sky. Experience the Polar Night, gather around a fire and hear local stories while learning more about the landscape and life in the Arctic. When conditions are right, there is also a chance to see the Northern Lights.
A relaxed winter stay in Lofoten
Stay at a comfortable hotel by the fjord, surrounded by mountains and water. With fewer visitors than in summer and long winter nights, there is time to slow down and enjoy the landscape. After a day outdoors, you can relax in the sauna and take in the views.
There is also plenty of flexibility to make the trip your own. Add extra nights, upgrade your room or include additional activities such as kayaking, fishing or Northern Lights photography.

A newer, design-forward hotel located on the old cooling-storage site in Svolvær centre, right by the quay. It is very centrally placed: walking distance to shops, restaurants, harbour, and many of the town’s activities. The hotel offers a generous breakfast buffet with both hot and cold items, bread, local products, fresh ingredients. The hotel even has its own rooftop greenhouse for some items.
Just off the hotel on a floating jetty is LYST Lofoten Sauna Svolvær. Excellent for relaxing after a day of outdoor activity. A unique hotel feature is that guests can bring in the fish (from the fishing boat), and have access to a facility to fillet / process the catch.
