Experience two of Norway’s most famous mountain hikes on a self-guided hiking holiday based in Stavanger. We arrange the practical details, including fjord cruise and bus transport to Preikestolen and return transport to Stavanger, as well as return bus transport for the guided Kjerag hike.
Two Iconic Hikes in the Lysefjord
Your adventure begins with a scenic cruise through the Lysefjord and onward bus transport to the trailhead for Preikestolen. Hike independently to the famous cliff overlooking the fjord, 604 metres above the water, before taking the organised bus back to Stavanger.
The following day, join a guided hike to Kjerag. Return bus transport from Stavanger is included, so you can focus on the hike and the spectacular mountain scenery. The route leads into the mountains above Lysebotn, with views across the Lysefjord and the opportunity to stand on the famous Kjeragbolten boulder.
Stay in Stavanger
Stavanger is your base for the adventure, giving you time to explore the city between hikes. Walk through the historic streets of Gamle Stavanger, enjoy the waterfront and discover the city's cafés and restaurants.
The combination of independent hiking, a guided mountain experience and organised transport makes this an easy way to experience two of the Lysefjord's most famous hikes without having to rent a car or plan the connections yourself.
