Explore the mountains around Høvringen on a self-guided hiking tour with short daily stages and gentle terrain. Well-marked trails lead through peaceful mountain landscapes with views towards the Rondane massif. The tour is ideal for families, couples and anyone looking for a more relaxed multi-day mountain hike.
Short Stages and Flexible Hiking
Daily stages are typically 6–12 km, with the option to choose longer routes if you want more hiking. Local hosts at Høvringen Fjellstue, Smuksjøseter and Putten Seter can recommend routes based on weather, conditions and your preferences.
Your luggage is transferred between the lodges, so you only carry a light daypack and can adjust each day to your energy level and the weather.
Comfortable Mountain Lodges
Your bed is made and dinner is served when you arrive at the next mountain lodge. Stay in double or family rooms with private bathrooms and enjoy a relaxed evening before the next day's hike.
Høvringen is a peaceful mountain destination with relatively few visitors. August and September are particularly beautiful, with crisp air, autumn colours and quieter trails.
Family discounts are available, making Explore Rondane a great introduction to multi-day hiking for children and first-time mountain hikers. Extra nights and longer hikes can be added for those who want to explore more.

For bookings with child discount, please send us an e-mail with name of all travellers, date of birth for the children, and requested dates for the tour.
When booking, you will receive a new email from us when all accommodations are confirmed. This may take from a few hours up to 3 business days. Please do not book your flight until you have received the email confirmation from us.

NOK 6,800.- in a double room
Single room supplement:
NOK 1125.-
Extra night at any of the lodges:
NOK 1,970.- per person in a double room
Child discount:
1 child under 12 years, free, in parents room (2).
Child no 2, under 12 years, 50% discount in parents room (2).
