Experience the southern section of the Troll Trail, skiing from Venabygdsfjellet to Lillehammer through the mountain landscapes of Gudbrandsdalen. This self-guided ski tour combines open mountain terrain, quiet valleys and forest trails before finishing in the Olympic town of Lillehammer.
From Venabygdsfjellet to Lillehammer
The tour starts at Spidsbergseter Resort on Venabygdsfjellet, surrounded by open mountain landscapes and views towards Rondane. From here, the route heads south across the mountains towards Nordseter and Sjusjøen.
The landscape changes along the way, from exposed mountain terrain and traditional mountain farms to sheltered woodland. The route finishes in Lillehammer, giving you a natural transition from the mountains to one of Norway’s best-known winter destinations.
A Demanding Mountain Ski Tour
The southern Troll Trail is a more demanding ski tour and is best suited to experienced cross-country skiers who are comfortable with longer days and changing winter conditions. Some sections can be ungroomed, and snow and weather conditions can have a significant impact on the difficulty of the route.
We provide detailed route information and maps, while you ski independently at your own pace. Your luggage is transferred between accommodations, so you only need to carry what you need for the day.
From the Mountains to Lillehammer
The tour combines a true mountain skiing experience with comfortable accommodation along the route. We arrange the accommodation, meals and luggage transfer, allowing you to concentrate on the skiing and the landscape.
