Experience the winter landscapes of Høvringen, at the edge of Rondane National Park, on a self-guided cross-country ski or snowshoe tour. With groomed ski trails, scenic mountain terrain and comfortable mountain lodges, this is a flexible way to explore the Norwegian mountains in winter.
Choose between cross-country skiing and snowshoeing and travel at your own pace. Daily stages are typically 6–12 km, with opportunities to extend your route if you want a longer day. The terrain around Høvringen offers options for different experience levels, from easier routes to more challenging outings in the surrounding mountains.
Ski or Snowshoe with a Light Pack
Your luggage is transported between the mountain lodges, so you only need to carry a light daypack. This leaves you free to take scenic breaks, choose a longer route or adjust your day according to the weather, snow conditions and how you feel.
Local hosts can recommend suitable routes based on current conditions. If you want to explore higher terrain, the surrounding mountains offer impressive views across Rondane National Park.

Each day ends at a welcoming mountain lodge, where you can relax and enjoy a three-course dinner. Comfortable double and family rooms with private bathrooms provide a pleasant place to rest after a day outdoors.
