Discover Bergen and the Fjords south of Bergen. The Hardangerfjord Express Boat takes you from Bergen to Rosendal through an adventurous nature of mountains and fjords.
From Rosendal you cycle in a varied and hilly landscape. You get to experience a little bit of Norway in miniature, with mountains, fjords, islands and lush hills. In the east, you can catch sight of the imposing glacier plateau, Folgefonna.
The daily stages are cut by boat- and ferry trips, and ends in cozy towns, where you can experience the authentic coastal- and fjord culture. We give you suggestions for great detours both along the fjord and in the archipelago.
In Bekkjarvik we can promise some extraordinary food experiences, when award-winning chefs offer homemade food with ingredients from a pantry that is influenced by their surroundings - fresh, wild and beautiful.

The tour starts and ends with in Bergen.

Day 1 - Sunday: Individual arrival in Bergen.
Bergen is the Gateway to the Fjords of Norway. As a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, the Bergen region has the ideal combination of nature, culture and exciting urban life all year around.
Accommodation in Bergen.

Day 2 - Monday: Pick up rental bikes.
Go by the Hardangerfjord express from Bergen to Rosendal in the afternoon (depart 16.30, arr. 18.25).
Accommodation in Rosendal.

Day 3 - Tuesday: See Rosendal and bike via Uskedalen and Husnes to the ferry quay of Utåker - 50 km.
We recommend spending some time in Rosendal and make a visit to The Barony.
There you find The Manor House from 1665, surrounded by beautiful and historic grounds, including a Renaissance garden, a romantic landscape garden and the kitchen garden.
You can also visit the Stone Park, where they display rocks from the Folgefonna Glacier National Park.

From Rosendal, yo will meet some traffic. The road runs through lush farmlands, with lovely views of the Hardangerfjord, towards the islands of Tysnes, Stord and Halsnøy. From Utåker you get the ferry to Skånevik, with plenty of nice spots for swimming and a Centre that invites you for a short stroll.
Accommodation in Skånevik.

Day 4 - Wednesday: Skånevik.
We highly recommend taking a bicycle tour from Skåneviks to Etne and back, a total of 52 km.
Travel by the Express boat to Leirvik in the evening. Leirvik is a small city on the island of Stord, with a nice city centre and harbour.
Accommodation in Leirvik.

Day 5 - Thursday: Bike from Leirvik to Bekkjarvik.
Bike from Leirvik via Fitjar to Sandvikvåg, 38 km. Ferry to Husavik, and 7 km cycling to Bekkjarvik. This stage follows the signposts of the North Sea Route, which runs from Egersund to Bergen (signposts only to Sandvikvåg). There is some uphill from Leirvik to Sagvåg, then easy cycling through lush cultural landscape. Bekkjarvik is an old trading station packed with coastal culture and with a fisheries museum at Bekkjarvik Torg. Bekkjarvik Galleri exhibits the work of several creative artists.
If you want to do more biking today, we recommend a detour to the island, Selbjørn, across the bridge to the island of Stolmen (15 km roundtrip).
Accommodation in Bekkjarvik.

Day 6 - Friday: Bike to Hufthamar, boat to Bergen.
We recommend spending some time in Austevoll. You can bike north to Storebø on the RV 546 on the west side of Huftarøy (+ 10 km).
