Experience the beauty of Norway’s winter landscape on a self-guided cross-country ski or snowshoe tour in Høvringen, located at the edge of Rondane National Park. We handle luggage transportation between lodges, so you can enjoy your day on the trails without carrying a heavy backpack.
This tour allows you to travel at your own pace — take scenic breaks, explore detours, or simply soak in the peaceful mountain surroundings. Each evening ends at a cozy mountain lodge, where you can unwind by the fireplace and share stories from your winter adventure.
Perfect for families, friends, or solo travelers, this tour is suitable for most skill levels. The daily stages are 6–12 km on well-groomed ski trails, with the option for longer routes if you're feeling energetic. The gentle terrain of Høvringen makes it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced skiers.
Local hosts at each lodge are knowledgeable about the area and happy to suggest the best ski or snowshoe routes based on current weather and snow conditions. After a day on the trail, you’ll be welcomed with a made bed and a delicious three-course dinner, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Accommodation includes comfortable double or family rooms with private bathroom.
Høvringen offers a vast network of ski and snowshoe trails, winding through a breathtaking winter landscape. Adventurous guests can head into the higher terrain for panoramic views of the Rondane mountains, where snow-covered peaks rise dramatically against the sky.
