Hike the Peer Gynts Trail

Status:
This tour is on request, please contact us for information and booking

The legend of Ibsen's Peer Gynt originated in Gudbrandsdalen and there is much evidence that the person the legend is based on was born at Vinstra, in the middle of Gudbrandsdalen. In the mountainous areas between Lillehammer and Vinstra, lies his kingdom. A magnificent of scenic landscapes and ancient cultural landscapes. Here Peer Gynt found tranquillity and inspiration. Peer Gynt may well have been a boaster and a dreamer, but a visit to Peer Gynt's Kingdom will convince you that Peer had good reason to boast of his kingdom. People still find both peace and joy in traveling in these mountain areas both summer and winter. The area offers easy trails in a varied terrain.
Along the way you stay three nights at each destination with time to discover the local trails and climb the nearest peaks.
The tour is self-guided. You decide for yourself, how far and steep you want to go. Your luggage is transferred from one hotel to the next, so that you can enjoy the trip with just a light daypack. Every evening you can enjoy a tasty dinner, based on local ingredients, while letting the day's experiences sink in.

NB! When booking, you will receive a new email from us when all accommodations are confirmed. This may take from a few hours up to 3 business days, depending on the supplier(s). Please don't book your flight until you've received an email confirmation from us.
